Tips for Making the Perfect Martini

Chill the Martini Glasses

Put the martini glasses in the freezer at least 1-hour before making the co*cktail. This will keep it chilled longer when serving.

What if I want my drink now? If you forgot to chill the glasses, simply add water and a few ice cubes. Stir for about 10 seconds to chill, then empty the glass before adding the mixed ingredients.

Shaken or Stirred

Honestly, it doesn’t matter for this Pumpkin Pie Martini. You don’t need to worry bout ‘bruising’ any of the ingredients. I preferred shaken to chill it better. On that note…

Shake Vigorously

Shake the co*cktail in a shaker fast and hard, for at least 30 seconds. This will chill it properly and form tiny ice crystals on the top…one of the signs of a perfect martini.

When you see frost starts to form on the outside the co*cktail is ready. If the shaker gets too cold you can wrap it with a town while shaking.

Use Canned Pumpkin Puree

To make this Pumpkin Pie Martini, use canned pumpkin. Be sure to use the puree, not pumpkin pie filling or it’ll probably be too sweet.

Should I Use Flavored Alcohol?

While there is pumpkin-flavored vodka available, I prefer to use the regular kind. The flavored one is usually too sweet and may be hard to find. It’s always easier to use what you have on hand and not need to stock up on special liqueurs if you don’t have to.

If you want to add extra flavor, you could try marshmallow vodka or vanilla vodka, which are easy to find and available year-round.

Can You Make this Keto?

Absolutely. The main ingredient in this Pumpkin Pie Martini that isn’t keto is the maple syrup. You should be able to find a keto maple syrup at most grocery stores.

Serve Immediately

The ingredients will settle and separate a bit, especially the pumpkin puree. It’s best to make the pumpkin martini right when you’re ready to serve so it’s also chilled.

Tips for Garnishing

To garnish, you can add a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and a whole star anise clove. Another option is to crush graham crackers and mix with a bit of sugar to create a pie crust flavored rim.
